Microsoft
has launched Windows 8 for desktops, mobiles devices, tablet devices, and for
other touch based hybrid laptops. Let us now discuss the latest OS from
Windows, about the Windows 8 problems, and new features in, and updates for,
the OS.
Mobile OS
- Unlike its
predecessors, Windows 8 comes loaded with lots of features. Unlike its
earlier versions, the Windows 8 OS comes loaded with many advanced
features like the Metro interface, and a new app ecosystem. The new x86 Windows
8 and Windows 8 RT platform developed for Windows 8 devices, features
Bluetooth, NFC tap and send features, among others. The OS has undergone a
major phase shift to address the hot mobile market. Both the x86 Windows 8
and Windows RT versions have been exclusively developed for tablets and
Windows phone devices.
- Laptops have
given way to tablets and hybrid tablet/laptops, which offer more battery
backup, better performance, graphic options and other features. The two
new versions of Windows 8 from Microsoft show how serious Microsoft is
about holding its own in the market. Microsoft expects to have an
electronic market dominated by Intel (x86) tablets running Windows 8,
dominating the current market front currently held by Apple and Google, in
the near future. Many of the multinational companies, namely Nokia,
Samsung, HTC, Compaq, and Acer, have agreed to manufacture and develop
devices powered by the Windows 8 OS.
- The older
Windows mobile operating system versions like the 7.5 mango and Windows
7.8 (exclusive for Nokia powered devices) lacked Bluetooth connectivity.
The newer version of the same, which is the Windows 8 ARM operating
system, has rectified all such Bluetooth compatibility issues, and is
assured to connect with any mobile device or tab like other android-based
phones does.
- The Windows
on ARM (WOA) tablets are the big story with Windows 8. The new revised
architecture of Windows, the ARM (WOA) is intended to take on both the
Android and iPad tablets. The new revised edition of Windows 8 is totally
mobile-focused OS enhanced with a new mobile app ecosystem, developed to
compete with all the market front runners.
