How To Set Up Austin Exchange Messenger Service In Outlook?

Austin Exchange Messenger Service (AEMS) enables the users an email and calendar service in a Microsoft Exchange enterprise level architecture. The advanced options provided by AEMS include the backup created for the email and calendar entries a well as an increased email security. You can also set up AEMS in the Microsoft Outlook 2010 application running in your system.

For changing the Outlook setting and setting up AEMS, you can consider the following instructions:
  • In the first step, you need to click on the Start menu and select Control Panel. Now, click on Mail and then on Show Profiles button. Now, navigate to the General tab and click on the Add button. You will now see a Profile Name field, wherein you need to enter your UT EID and click OK.
  • Now, click on Next followed by Finish to complete the configuration process if your details are filled in automatically. If not, then you can proceed to the next step.
  • Go to the Your Name field and type in your first and last name. Similarly, in the Email Address field, you need to enter your primary AEMS email address.
  • Here, you can leave the Password fields blank. Later on, you may get a message to enter your password in the Outlook setting. Now, click Next and wait until the configuration process is finished. It will configure email server settings and may take some time while the application tries to auto-configure for various email server types.
  • If you get a message, then you need to confirm that the server address being used is https://wmail.austin.utexas.edu/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml. Now, mark the Don’t ask me about this website again checkbox.
  • In the next step, you need to click on the Allow option. Here, if you get prompts, type in AUSTIN\yourEID as the User Name and your UT EID password as the Password. Now, wait for the configuration to get completed.
  • Once the process is over, you can click on Finish. Now, go back to the Show Profiles window and check if your new profile is selected in the Always use this profile field. If you find it to be selected, then it will be used the next time you run Outlook.
